Consensus
Opinion formation with limited processing and communication.

Project Goal
We investigate consensus type of problems where the system goal is to converge to a consensus ranking based on local interactions between nodes in a network. We consider systems under the following constraints: (a) connectivity graph - determining which node directly interacts with which other node, (b) signalling - how much information can be observed from a node, and (c) computation - how much processing each node can do. The problems that we consider are motivated by various applications including opinion formation in social networks, decentralized ranking, and information aggregation in sensor networks.
