Mr. Jim Gray is a senior researcher and distinguished engineer in Microsoft's Scaleable Servers Research Group and manager of Microsoft's Bay Area Research Center (BARC).

He is the fellow of Association of Computing Machinery, member of National Academy of Engineering and National Academy of Science, and member research of American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

He is also one of the 26 people in the PITAC (President's Information Technology Advisory Committee).
