Studio99 Presents: Michael Gough and “Drawing as Literacy.”

Please help us welcome Michael Gough to Microsoft Research’s studio99. Michael is corporate vice president of design for Microsoft’s Applications and Services Group. He’ll be talking about Drawing as Literacy – why drawing is key to creativity and to using one’s whole brain.

Michael Gough joined Microsoft in February of this year as corporate vice president of design for the Applications and Services Group. Prior to coming to Microsoft, he was vice president of experience design at Adobe Systems Inc, leading its multidisciplinary experience creation organization. His responsibilities included leading the design of individual products, cross-product experiences, and next-generation products and services.

A longtime design evangelist and advocate for the next generation of creatives, Gough has been pushing the envelope with disruptive designs and technology innovation for years. Before joining Adobe in 2005, Gough served as the vice president of brand design at Nike Inc., chief creative officer at Quokka Sports Inc., and founder and creative director at Construct Internet Design. He is a regular speaker at industry conferences on the topics of design, creativity, innovation and education.
