In 1996 Cincinnati Country Day School was the first school in the United States to go 1:1 in grades 5-12. Robert Baker will share his insight, experience and implementation strategy. This will not be a “visionary, pie in the sky, what could possibly happen” session—it will be a history lesson. Country Day acts as a lab for the world in terms of what is possible when you deploy hardware that removes all constraints and allows teachers to focus on pedagogy, not technology. Tablet PCs with digital ink and touchscreens are (unfortunately) the best kept secret in educational technology and the teaching and learning process. Hardware and software have finally caught up with what CCDS does with technology, making it easier and more affordable to empower every student with a device that can “Do it all.” Find out why educators flock to Country Day from all over the world in the pursuit of capturing the educational power of CCDS' benchmark one-to-one tablet PC program.
Windows 8 tablets with touch, ink and laptop functionality remove all constraints for educators, and allow IT departments to manage, maintain, support, upgrade and scale efficiently and effectively. There is one reason that we are a full Windows shop running Windows 8 tablet pcs…our pursuit of the most powerful teaching and learning environment led us there…if there were something better, we would be using it!
