Welcome to the Knowledge Age

What happens when you search the web for a couple of decades? You find a bunch of stuff. And once found, information is no longer information: it is knowledge and the buildup of knowledge is changing everything, from the way we interact with our devices and services, to the way we get tasks done. With the information age in full retreat and the knowledge age in full swing, changes are coming. In this talk, I welcome you to the knowledge age and give you a tour of what is coming.

James Whittaker is a technology executive with a career that spans academia, start-ups, and top tech companies. James’ first stint at Microsoft was in Trustworthy Computing and then Visual Studio. In 2009, he joined Google as an engineering director and led teams working on Chrome, Maps, and Google+. He was also the keynote speaker for Google Developer Days. In 2012, James rejoined Microsoft to build the Bing Information Platform. James is known for being a creative and passionate leader and sought after speaker and author. Of his five books, two have been Jolt Award finalists.
