Office & SharePoint Garage: Apps for Office with Juan Balmori Labra

The Apps for Office FTE Program is excited to present you a series of tech talks to help you create great apps. We’re starting off with the basics with this Office & SharePoint Garage event. Juan Balmori Labra will demo exciting new ways to extend Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook using web technologies such as HTML5 and JavaScript! This workshop is a unique opportunity to get started on everything you need to know to start creating apps and delight potentially millions of Office users across the globe. You will learn what types of applications you can create, tools, tons of code samples, hosting options and much more. If you’ve already started building apps for Office, this tech talk will expand your toolkit to help you improve the functionality of your app.

Speaker Details

Juan Balmori is a program manager of the Office JavaScript API! He has been at Microsoft for 12 years. For the last 2 years he’s been working on the Office Solutions Framework team building the “apps for Office” technology. Before that he worked on the Office 2010 release shipping Business Connectivity Services in SharePoint, and also the suite to integrate SAP with Office known as Duet.

Before moving to Redmond, Juan worked at Microsoft Mexico on the Consulting Practice, as the Principal Architect for the Public Sector Practice and was very involved in e-Government projects as well as Healthcare solutions.
