Concurrency Simple and Safe? State of SCOOP
Ever more programmers need to know about concurrency, but for the most part concurrent programming techniques are messy and unsafe. The SCOOP approach, built on top of Eiffel, retains as much as possible of the standard modes of reasoning about sequential programs. I will present the current state of SCOOP, its implementation and the challenges ahead.

Dr. Bertrand Meyer is professor of software engineering at ETH Zurich and Chief Architect of Eiffel Software. He is the author of several books including “Object-Oriented Software Construction” and “Introduction to the Theory of Programming Languages.”
