Instructor: Ed Perkins – Objectives: Build a functional website based on WordPress. Master with Pages, photos, media and links. – Takeaways: building and publishing a live and functional website by yourself. – Objectives: Add extra website functionalities include events, blogs, comments, social media, links, statistics, calendar, sync and ensure security. – Takeaways: capable of master functionalities and ensure security. Instructor Ed Perkins – Objectives; Build website with business functions including membership, registration, comments, questions, shopping cart, linked with Excel or accounting data base, credit card transactions and etc. – Takeaways: Capable of building websites for business use.

Attendee will acquire a precious lifetime skill of creating great websites by him/herself.

Speaker Details

Ed Perkins has been an IEEE volunteer since 1980. He is Secretary of the Nanotechnology Council, former Region 6 Director, former Region 6 MD chair, past chair of the MGA Membership Recruitment and Recovery Committee, past Vice-President of Professional Activities for IEEE-USA. He also is co-founder and past chair of the IEEE Conference on Technologies for Sustainability (SusTech). He currently consults in IT Governance, enterprise risk management, performance and risk auditing; process automation; and technology documentation and holds a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation from the Institute of Internal Auditors. He has over 30 years industry experience, in electronic design automation, program and project management, mixed-signal test development, design services management, chip architecture development, software development, and real time systems programming. He has worked as design services manager for a telecom start-up, as a program manager for the Virtual Test Division of IMS in Beaverton, Oregon, and 16 years at Digital Equipment Corporation, 10 years in the central engineering CAD department where he was responsible for management of CAE services and support to engineering groups worldwide and before that as principal software engineer in real-time operating systems.
