Mathematica Tech Talk with Wolfram

During this seminar, we will explore using Mathematica and the Wolfram Cloud for a wide variety of practical applications in R and D. Attendees will also be introduced to Mathematica Online, which users at Microsoft Research now have full access to. No experience is required, and all groups are encouraged to attend. Topics may include: Machine Learning, Statistical Analysis, Visualization, Graphs and Networks, Optimization, Random Processes, Queueing Analysis, R Link, and more.

Speaker Details

Nigel is an Account Executive with Wolfram Research, with an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He has been with Wolfram for over 2 years, working mostly with commercial and non-profit organizations on the West Coast. Nigel leverages his knowledge and expertise, in working closely with clients, to help compliment their vision with Wolfram’s technology stack.

Michael Kelly has used Mathematica since 1992 and has been a Mathematica consultant since 1995. He has given innumerable seminars on the use of Mathematica in finance. He has used Mathematica, MathLink, and Microsoft Excel to set up financial databases, construct mathematical and statistical models of trading data, write code to simulate newly devised trading strategies, write interface code to communicate with the trading platform to institute automated trading, analyze the PNL of trades, write research reports, evaluate options and futures prices, and implement trading strategies. Dr. Kelly is currently a Wolfram Technology Consultant, specifically consulting with Wolfram Finance Platform.
