Cloud Computing and Big Data

The momentum in IT around devices and services is accelerating the importance of Cloud Computing and Big Data. This impacts both the consumer and enterprise spaces, from technical, social and economic viewpoints. It requires thinking about the intersection of computer science and economics, and how this can transform businesses. The ability for companies and developers to easily access and manipulate data is key to enabling new experiences. We will explore how the design and features of the F# language allows developers to maximise their creativity and productivity. It also provides them with seamless access to the world of typed data and services on the web, cloud and in the enterprise. The economics of the cloud offers both increased agility and decreased costs to end-users. We describe how the combination of a highly connected world with data mining opens up new information possibilities, and challenges existing economic models.
