Mena Trott is co-founder and CEO of Six Apart, the creators of the TypePad service and Movable Type software, two of the leading tools for publishing weblogs. In addition to her role leading the management and business efforts of Six Apart, Mena enjoys working on making the products aesthetically pleasing as well as functionally intuitive. When she’s not developing Movable Type, she writes for her own weblog, dollarshort.org, contributed to “Essential Blogging”, and publishes posts regularly on the Six Apart company weblog at sixapart.com. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and co-founder of Six Apart, Ben Trott.
Ben Trott is co-founder and CTO of Six Apart, the creators of the TypePad service and Movable Type software, two of the leading tools for publishing weblogs. Ben develops all of the backend code for Movable Type and TypePad, contributes regularly to CPAN (the Comprehensive Perl Archive Network), and has written for Perl.com and contributed to “Essential Blogging”, along with regular posts to the Six Apart company weblog at sixapart.com. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and co-founder of Six Apart, Mena G. Trott.
Anil Dash is Vice President of Business Development for Six Apart. Anil’s background includes a position in New Media Development for Village Voice Media, parent company of the Village Voice and several other prominent alternative weeklies across the country, and was preceded by positions as CTO, senior management and outside consultant for firms in the music and television production industries. Anil is also recognized as a writer and speaker on the weblog medium, microcontent software, and personal publishing, and has given presentations on the future of weblogs and business applications of weblogs across the country in addition to numerous print and television appearances, including a recent appearance on PBS’ “Media Matters” series in a discussion on weblogs.
