Research in Focus: Technology, Storytelling, and the Vanishing Glaciers of the Himalaya
In this interview during the Microsoft Research Faculty Summit 2012, David Breashears, mountaineer and filmmaker, discusses the 11 expeditions that his non-profit organization, GlacierWorks, made to the Greater Himalaya to document the world’s highest and least studied glaciers. By using matched photography, David and the GlacierWorks team have recorded the loss of glacial mass and other changes that have occurred over the past century.
