Overview of existing assurance methods in the area of privacy and IT security

The objective of this document is the assessment of existing assurance methods (most of them coming from an IT security or information security background) with respect to their applicability for privacy enhancing identity management. On the one hand the report allowed the members of the work package to assess the state of the art and future possibilities for doing assurance in the privacy domain. On the other hand it provides information to all partners of the project on the current status of privacy centric assurance and creates the necessary common understanding for a more rigid definition and validation of security and privacy properties throughout the project.
