Rethinking Network Control & Management: The Case for a New 4D Architecture

This talk explores the current state of the art in networking, and how to model and predict the behavior of those networks. It then goes on to argue that a new network architecture, the 4D architecture, enables realization of desirable network properties with less complexity. The 4D architecture shows how the principle of direct control can be applied to network switches and the benefits that follow.
