Intro

The Travel Planner project is meant to demonstrate information visualization techniques that include:

• Show an overview of an entire trip
• Relate geography, time, content, theme
• Allow tentativeness/uncertainty in user input
• Allow vagueness
• Compare alternative configurations of a trip

Mission

Leverage natural human capabilities to dramatically ease and enrich the travel planning experience.

Goal

Successfully transfer ideas, concepts, and designs from Travel Planning prototype to product groups.

• Develop and integrate technologies that
• Exploit 3D, audio, and animation technologies
• Enrich and expand design vocabulary
• Lead to UI paradigm shift in current products through demonstrations and evangelism
