CALL FOR TUTORIAL PROPOSALS

The EC'04 organizing committee invites proposals for the Tutorial Program, to be held immediately prior to the main conference.
Members from all segments of the electronic commerce community are invited to submit tutorial proposals for review. Tutorials can vary in length, but most will last a half day. We will coordinate the Tutorial Program with the World Wide Web conference to encourage cross-registration and participation.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PROPOSALS
Proposals for tutorials should be limited to 1-2 pages for the outline plus background information on the presenter(s), and should contain the following information:
- Abstract: High-level goals and technical content
- Proposed duration: Half-day or full-day
- Motivation/Intended audience:
Why and to whom is the tutorial of interest
- Detailed outline
- Background knowledge required
- (if applicable) Information about conference and dates of previous tutorials
- Biography of presenter(s)
- Contact information

SELECTION CRITERIA
The selection criteria will be based on a number of factors, including the scientific/technical interest of the topics, the quality of the proposal, the need to avoid strictly overlapping tutorials, and capacity limits.

SHARED RESPONSIBILITIES
For all accepted proposals, EC'04 will be responsible for:
- Providing logistics support and a meeting place for the tutorial
- Working to determine the tutorial date and time
- Duplicating tutorial notes
Tutorial Organizers will be responsible for:
- Making the tutorial notes available to the tutorial chair in
due time (approx. 4 weeks before the conference)
