 Opening January 2005, Microsoft's newest research center,
in Bangalore, India, is the company’s third international laboratory. The lab will
be established to pursue research in computer science, information
technology, and the social relevance of these technologies. India’s
reputation for excellence in computer-science research and engineering
schools make it a natural choice for Microsoft’s newest research facility.
