Theory

Theory group is the newest addition to Microsoft Research Asia's research agenda. The group advances understanding of the foundation of computer science and collaborates with other groups to solve challenging algorithmic and analytical problems. Since its inception, the group has built strong connections with Chinese and international academic community, working jointly on solving fundamental problems in theoretical computer science.

Systems

The Systems Research Group (SRG) at Microsoft Research Asia conducts research in the theory and practice of building large-scale distributed systems. The group measures its success on how it advances system research frontiers and Microsoft¡¯s product lines through technology transfer. Group members also reach out to collaborate with system researchers in Asia and the rest of the world.

Wireless and Networking

The Wireless and Networking research group engages in fundamental research on mobile computing and networking. We strive to advance the state-of-the-art and to create new computing experiences with mobile, pervasive, personal, and embedded devices. Our group members' research interests span wireless networking, mobile systems, phone-based computing, embedded systems, security, and new networking paradigms. We emphasize both analytical and empirical approaches, and build actual systems to validate theoretical results and refine system principles from experimental work.
